On September 25, 2024, the Institute of Data Innovation in Science at Seoul National University successfully hosted a special lecture by Professor J.S. Marron in the International Conference Room at the College of Natural Sciences. The lecture, titled "Data Integration via Analysis of Subspaces (DIVAS)," addressed the challenges of data integration in the big data era.
Professor Marron, an internationally renowned statistician, serves as the Amos Hawley Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina and earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He explained methodologies for effectively integrating different types of data, demonstrating the utility of DIVAS using datasets on mortality, cancer, and neuroimaging.
