Statistics Research Institute (SRI) was established. The institute was established in March 1989 as an affiliated statistical research institution of the College of Natural Sciences at Seoul National University, aiming to conduct theoretical research in statistics, develop statistical methods and related software, provide statistical consultation both within and outside the university, promote statistics through public lectures, and carry out commissioned research for industry-academia collaboration.
